That's what I always thought it meant, like he's talking about how he won't ever be too far away from his wife. Plus he says "for better or worse" which are part of wedding vows. I don't see how people get the music scene thing, is that what Mike Kinsella said? |

I think this is about himself, he's looking back to how he was when he was younger. How socially awkward he was. It's scary how much I relate to this, the line "poor skinny fat kid, without any interest in making friends" describes me, since I used to be chubby and nearly friendless, now I'm just one of those. |

I think I've got a couple books like he's talking about, some of the first ones I read and fell in love with. I managed to keep them this long. It's amazing the memories that I recall when I pick them up. Like going to camp in the sixth grade with only one book and the stuffed bear I was ashamed that I still needed to fall asleep. I read that book and cried to sleep every night. Poor banderbear. |

Actually this is a concept album, he's gone to the future and is separated from the woman he loves. Drugs have no part in this song. Just because a song is from a certain time period doesn't mean it's about of drugs. |

People think this is about Jesus? It sounds more like it's about a girl, like basically all of their songs. Reminds me of that South Park Episode where Cartman took love songs and made them into Christian songs. |
